Super-star Tri-athletes
So it came to the time when the training was done and two members of 2LK set forth to test their strength and stamina against the best that Crondall could offer. After months of training and a certain amount of uncertainty, 2LK’s very own little and large set forth to conquer the annual challenge that is the The Crondall Supersprint Triathlon.
Both Emily and Andy had spent long hours running, swimming and cycling getting themselves ready for the event. This being the first attempt for Andy which made it a particular triumph that he managed a respectable 1 hour 33 minutes around the course. In fact, it was an absolutely out-standing effort – the man mountain now swims like a fish and would take on Lance Armstrong on his new bike, shame he hasn’t learnt to run without gloves yet!
At 1 hour 20 minutes, Emily is now the 6th fastest woman in Surrey – catch her if you can! With this success behind her, she’s now after a new bike to go even faster!
No doubt there will be more to follow, 2012 is not far away and with a bit of luck one of these will be in Team GB come the London Olympics.
Huge congratulations to the both of you, all the effort paid off and the rest of the office enjoyed a nice lunch time at the Plume of Feathers, which makes a change from you two dashing of to the pool every other lunchtime getting fit.
You put the rest of us to shame, maybe next time there will be a few more of us? Maybe……………
